Box truck with 500 frozen turkeys stolen from California charity

A box truck carrying nearly 500 frozen turkeys intended for a Thanksgiving giveaway was stolen from a California nonprofit over the weekend, disrupting one of the community’s largest holiday food distributions.

Riverside County sheriff’s deputies were called to a church on Auto Center Drive in Lake Elsinore (Riverside County) just before 8 a.m. Saturday, where members of the U.R. Important Foundation had been sorting donations for their annual holiday program.
