Two Coachella Valley mobile food facilities were shut down by Riverside County health inspectors this week, while another locale was investigated, according to reports.
The Riverside County Department of Environmental Health received preliminary water testing results from Birrieria La Original and Birrieria Sinaloa, which detected the presence of total coliform in their water samples. Coliform bacteria are organisms present in the environment and in the feces of all warm-blooded animals and humans, according to the Washington state health department. This bacteria will not likely cause illness, but its presence in drinking water indicates that disease-causing organisms (pathogens) could be in the water system. The two food facilities are not able to operate until the bacteria is no longer detected.
Additionally, Heritage Palms Golf Club in Indio was inspected in response to a complaint, but inspectors did not note any major violations. The facility passed with an “A” grade…
