A newly released report from the California Department of Justice shows that Palm Springs continues to lead Riverside County in reported hate crime incidents. According to the 2024 data, the city logged 10 cases, representing nearly one-third of the 34 total hate crimes reported across the county.The findings highlight a continuation of a pattern seen in previous years. In 2023, Palm Springs accounted for 11 of the county’s 35 reported hate crimes, making it the jurisdiction with the highest concentration of such incidents for a second consecutive year.The report also documents additional hate crime activity in areas policed by the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, which recorded five incidents in 2024.
