‘Miracle’ miniature horse Butter rescued

A miniature horse in California has been dubbed a “miracle” after she survived a 15-foot drop down a well that turned out to be a whopping 60 feet deep in total.

Various first responder organizations banded together last year to rescue Butter — who had a happy ending despite her dramatic fall.

At the time, Riverside County Animal Services posted details of the mission on social media alongside photos of the rescue party and of Butter herself.

“Meet the Miracle Horse, Butter!” they wrote on Facebook. “Butter crashed through a plywood-covered well 15 feet. The rescue started early afternoon Friday, November 1, 2024, and ended around 10 p.m. In all efforts to save Butter, the water from the well was siphoned indicating that the well was actually 60 feet deep.”…
