A 27-year-old man accused of driving under the influence when his car struck a group of high school track and field runners in Anaheim on Wednesday has been arrested, police said.
Officers responded to reports of a crash involving multiple pedestrians at Harbor Boulevard and North Street just before 3 p.m., according to the Anaheim Police Department.
Eight members of Anaheim High School’s track and field team were standing on the southwest corner during a training run with their coach when the driver of an orange Toyota Corolla veered off the roadway and hit them, police said.
Seven of the eight runners — boys and girls ages 16 and 17 — were taken to local hospitals with various injuries. Police said their injuries were not considered life-threatening…
