On Tuesday, Dec. 16, at approximately 6:34 p.m., Banning Police officers responded to the report of an armed robbery at the Jack in the Box located at 6350 W. Ramsey Street in Banning. Officers contacted staff who reported that a white male adult in his 30s, with tattoos on his face, entered the store and displayed a fire- arm. The subject stole cash from one of the registers and fled on foot.
During the investigation, officers were able to review surveillance video and from prior contacts they positively identified the suspect as 37-year-old, Codi Jay Shelton, a local Banning transient.
