Metrolink to offer $10 fare on New Year’s Day

Looking for something fun to do on New Year’s Day? Grab the family and hop on the Metrolink. The Southern California’s regional passenger rail provider is offering an affordable alternative to sitting in seasonal traffic on New Year’s Day. Next Thursday, Jan. 1, Metrolink customers can enjoy unlimited rides across the 545-mile, six-county network — including the Arrow service connecting San Bernardino and Redlands — for just $10 per day with the SoCal Day Pass. Whether heading to a family gathering or fitting in a holiday outing, local Southern Californians and visitors alike can take the stress out of travel and avoid packed roadways by climbing aboard and letting Metrolink do the driving.

A Metrolink press release reports that trains will operate a weekend schedule on all lines except the Riverside Line, which does not run on weekends or select holidays. In a change from recent years, Metrolink will not offer special early morning service for Tournament of Roses Parade attendees on Jan. 1.
