Man dies in custody at Riverside County jail

A 46-year-old man died on Monday while in custody at Riverside County jail, the sheriff’s department said.

Deputies found Quadir Boykin, 46, of Menifee, unresponsive in a housing unit cell at 12:40 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 29, the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department said. Corrections staff, jail medical personnel and paramedics administered life-saving measures but he died at the scene at the Larry D. Smith Correctional Facility in Banning.

Authorities were investigating Boykin’s death, but the sheriff’s department said there was no signs of foul play…
