Counterfeit cash scam targets ‘approximately a dozen’ In-N-Out restaurants in Southern California

(KTLA) – Police say they’ve nabbed two criminals who had cooked up a scheme to target In-N-Out restaurants with counterfeit cash.

Auriona Lewis, 24, and Tatiyanna Foster, 26, face felony charges of counterfeiting and grand theft after officials say they passed counterfeit bills at about a dozen In-N-Out Burger locations in Southern California.

An investigation into the duo’s alleged activities began on Oct. 21, 2025, after an incident at a Glendale In-N-Out that detectives later connected to a broader pattern targeting In-N-Out locations throughout Los Angeles and Orange counties, according to police.

“Investigators learned that the suspects had successfully victimized approximately a dozen restaurants by using counterfeit bills, resulting in financial losses and operational disruptions to the businesses,” police said…
