Former CVUSD Non-Teacher Substitute Arrested in Privacy Invasion Investigation

A former Coachella Valley Unified School District classified substitute has been arrested as part of an ongoing investigation by the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.Carlos Camacho, 20, of Coachella, was taken into custody on January 7 after deputies responded to a report of unlawful invasion of privacy two days earlier. According to the Sheriff’s Department, deputies were called to the 83000 block of Calle Moreno Street in Coachella on January 5. Camacho had fled by the time they arrived but was later identified and arrested without incident. He was booked at the John Benoit Detention Center and is scheduled to appear in court on April 8.CVUSD confirmed the investigation in a statement Monday, noting Camacho had worked as a classified substitute—a non-teaching staff position.
