Southern California hit by 4.9-magnitude earthquake as ‘entire houses shake’

South Carolina experienced a 4.9 magnitude earthquake on Monday, according to the United States Geological Survey (USGS).

The earthquake struck at 5:56 p.m. local time near Indio, the USGS said.
