LOS ANGELES — A preliminary 4.9-magnitude earthquake shook Riverside County on Monday evening followed by several afterschocks, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.
The earthquake was centered several miles from Indio. It occurred at a depth of 1.86 miles.
The initial temblor struck at 5:56 p.m. and was immediately followed by several aftershocks, at magnitudes of 3.3, 3.4, 2.9 and 3.0, according to the USGS…
