Palo Verde Hospital in Blythe receives short-term funding to stay open

Palo Verde Hospital in Blythe has received short-term funding to continue critical medical services while staff look for long-term solutions to its financial woes, the facility announced in a statement on Friday, Jan. 23.

The hospital’s emergency room and ancillary services, as well as the Palo Verde Hospital Community Clinic, are open.

The loan comes from Riverside County in the amount of $1 million, according to county spokesperson Brooke Federico. The county proposed the loan earlier this month to continue services at the hospital’s emergency department, which the Palo Verde Healthcare District board voted to approve…
