- Firefighters quickly arrived and were able to knock down the fire and pronounced the lone occupant in the car deceased.
- According to a witness and CHP Cad (Inland 0104), the driver was trying to exit the vehicle after the car hit the pole.
- According to CHP, the car veered off the freeway at a high rate of speed and slammed into the pole.
