Beach hazard and high surf warning for Orange County

The National Weather Service has issued a Beach Hazards Statement for Orange County Coastal and San Diego County Coastal areas. Thunderstorms with lightning are expected to move ashore early February 17, with beach lightning likely between Oceanside and Solana Beach. The statement remains in effect until 5 AM PST.

A High Surf Advisory is also in effect until 10 PM PST Friday, with large breaking waves of 4 to 9 feet and sets up to 11 feet in some areas.
