A now 46-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a more than 20-year cold case murder in Riverside County, officials announced.
Homicide investigators with the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department said that around 4:15 a.m. on Aug. 11, 2002, deputies responded to a report of a traffic collision near the intersection of Avenida Mendoza and Calle Durango in La Quinta in the Coachella Valley.
“Deputies arrived and located an adult male inside the vehicle, later identified as 27-year-old Herman Marquez of Indio,” according to a RCSD news release. “Marquez was suffering from gunshot wounds and was pronounced deceased at the scene.”…
