Suspect hits unoccupied patrol car, leads deputies on chase from Moreno Valley to Tustin

As Riverside County sheriff’s deputies were investigating a crash involving a pedestrian overnight, a driver crashed into one of their unoccupied patrol vehicles and then sped off.

The incident unfolded shortly before 1 a.m. Wednesday near Alessandro Boulevard and Indian Street, according to the sheriff’s department. Deputies tried to stop that driver, but instead the suspect led them on a chase that continued on the 60 Freeway before moving onto the 91 Freeway.

The chase ended on the 55 Freeway at McFadden Avenue in Tustin after deputies used a grappler to disable the suspect’s vehicle…
