A convicted felon who gunned down a 30-year-old man during a confrontation in Moreno Valley, then fled to another city where he was apprehended, was sentenced Monday to 30 years to life in state prison.
Joe Miramontes Jr., 33, of Moreno Valley pleaded guilty in February to second-degree murder and a sentence-enhancing gun use allegation under a pretrial agreement with the Riverside County District Attorneyβs Office. In exchange for his admissions, prosecutors dropped two related charges against Miramontes.
