Yucaipa joins Riverside road maintenance project

At its May 11 meeting, the Yucaipa City Council unanimously approved an agreement with Riverside County for slurry seal improvements along a portion of County Line Road, a project city officials say will save money while extending the lifespan of local streets.

The agreement authorizes the city to contribute $9,950 toward resurfacing approximately 22,000-square-feet of roadway on the northern half of County Line Road, between Basil Lane and Marble Drive. Riverside County maintains the southern half of the roadway, while the city is responsible for the northern portion. Staff said the partnership allows both sides of the street to be resurfaced simultaneously as part of Riverside County’s larger countywide pavement maintenance project.

“The county of Riverside staff reached out to us to let us know they’re moving forward with a large countywide slurry seal improvement project,” Assistant City Engineer Landon Kern told the council during the meeting…
