Local firefighters battle boat blaze in Cove Harbor

ROCKPORT — Volunteer fire departments from Rockport, Fulton and Lamar responded to multiple boats on fire at the Hook & Bull Marina in Cove Harbor South on June 13.

The Rockport Volunteer Fire Department was initially dispatched to the area at around 7:44 p.m. and when they arrived firefighters saw two 35-foot vessels on fire, according to a Facebook post from the Rockport Volunteers Fire Department.

Once the first firefighters were on scene, they also requested help from the Fulton and Lamar Fire Departments. Firefighters battled the blaze for more than hour working to contain the blaze, and the Facebook post stated they were able to keep the blaze from spreading from the two boats…
