During a regular city council meeting on June 15, Aransas Pass Mayor Jason Knight issued a public apology to the family and friends of Elisa Roberson. Roberson has been missing for more than 35 years, and was last seen on Aug. 6, 1989 as she walked to a friend’s house.
The public apology comes a little more than a month following a geoforensic investigation at the Roberson home, after which the Aransas Pass Police Department agreed to release the investigation files to the family.
“On behalf of the City of Aransas Pass, I wish to extend my sincere thoughts and compassions to your family regarding the disappearance of Elisa and the many years of uncertainty that have followed. For more than three decades, your family as well as friends have lived with unanswered questions regarding Elisa’s disappearance,” Knight said. “While no words can fully address the hardship that accompanies such a loss, I want to acknowledge the perseverance, dedication, and strength your family has demonstrated in seeking answers and keeping Elisa’s memory alive.”…
