GRANT PARISH, La. (WNTZ) – Two Texas men were arrested after a pursuit through four parishes led deputies to an alleged attempt to smuggle about $31,000 worth of methamphetamine into a federal prison using a drone, according to the Grant Parish Sheriff’s Office.
Authorities said a Grant Parish sheriff’s deputy noticed a vehicle stopped in the middle of Hooper Road and turned around to check on it. The vehicle then sped away, leading deputies on a pursuit through Grant, Rapides, Winn and Natchitoches parishes before it was stopped.

As the pursuit began, another deputy returned to the area where the vehicle had initially been parked and found a drone that had landed nearby, according to the sheriff’s office.
