It was a tough start to the District 30-4A schedule for the Ingleside Mustangs on Friday night, as they lost their opening game of district play. The Mustangs tried to mount a comeback in the fourth quarter, but ultimately lost 44-29 against Robstown. Ingleside dropped to 3-1 overall and 0-1 in district play.
Trailing 37-7 in the fourth quarter, the Mustangs mounted a furious comeback with 22 points in the final stanza. However, the rally came up just short.
Quarterback Landon Younk threw for 223 yards and two touchdowns in the loss. Jayden Techur paced the Mustangs receiving core with four catches for 50 yards, while Kasen Coffield and Julius Sierra hauled in the two touchdown passes.
