Soil contaminated by chemical spill at Port Of Victoria headed to Robstown

VICTORIA, Texas – Workers are moving soil contaminated by a chemical leak at the Port of Victoria out of the port.

San Patricio County Sheriff Oscar 5ivera says the 50 to 60 trucks of soil are moving through his county.

The soil will go to U.S. Ecology in Robstown, a hazardous waste facility designed to handle that kind of material.

The oil and chemical spill at the Shamrock Products terminal at the Port of Victoria happened January 3.

Authorities say about 300 barrels of crude oil and diesel were leaked.
