Improving infrastructure is high on the list with the Aransas Pass administration, much of the work being done with municipal employees and city-owned equipment. A recent example is here on W. Beasley Ave. where crews Monday, January 29th, laid 1.3 miles of new asphalt surface from South Ave. A to S. Commercial St. The job was expected to be completed February 2nd.

Public Works Director David Flores, Jr. explained the estimated cost for the road improvements is $250,000. He acknowledged DPW workers by name who brought their expertise to get it done right, including Streets Supervisor Michael Bonner as hopper operator, Saul Adam, paver operator, Dominador Sereno, slope operator, Steven Lewis, double-drum roller operator, and Tyler Murphy, pneumatic roller operator. Flores lent a hand, too, he shared, behind the controls as mat operator. (Courtesy: City of Aransas Pass)
