Rutted sand on the beach has caused multiple vehicles to become stuck, and the section of beach from Marker 6 to Beach Access Road 1A is temporarily closed, according to assistant Fire Chief Vinton James. Eyewitnesses attributed part of the problem to large trucks revving their motors and spinning tires.
