Enrollments, graduations up at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi

Enrollment and graduation rates are up at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi.

President and CEO Kelly Miller highlighted recent achievements at the university’s State of the University event Wednesday. The theme of her presentation was “all in,” focusing on commitments to student success, research, collaboration and innovation.

“We’ve really turned a corner the corner on some of the enrollment hits we took during COVID and we are moving in a really positive direction,” Miller said.

The university saw a 4.97% increase in student enrollments this semester compared to last fall. The university currently has about 11,395 students enrolled.

Additionally, there has been a 12.1% increase in the number of students graduating over the last four years, Miller said.

About 52% of graduates are first-generation students and 55% are economically disadvantaged. Forty-six percent are Hispanic.

Students attending the university come from 56 countries, 49 U.S. states and 181 Texas counties. Close to 40% of students come from the Coastal Bend.
