Getting ready to cook for Thanksgiving? Corpus Christi culinary students have some tips

Whether you’re celebrating Friendsgiving or Thanksgiving, preparing a dish might seem a bit daunting.

The Caller-Times met with culinary arts students from three different Corpus Christi Independent School District high schools to gather some tips for people preparing dishes for the November holiday.

Moody High School culinary instructor Donna Jones, Carroll High School culinary teacher Amanda Buentello and Miller High School culinary chef John Deleon have been teaching their students how to prepare pies, biscuits, turkeys and more throughout the school year.

So, whether you’re preparing a pumpkin pie or in charge of bringing the cranberry sauce, these high school students have you covered.

Side dishes with Moody High School

Biscuits are better than rolls

Students at Moody High School recommend baking biscuits rather than your typical dinner rolls.

While people might argue that biscuits are dry, students suggest adding cheese to the side dish to make it more flavorful and crispy.
