Italian rye grass is ‘900-pound gorilla’

Italian rye grass is the “900-pound gorilla,” for Texas wheat producers, due in large part to herbicide resistance.

“Annual or Italian ryegrass is an important weed in Texas winter wheat production and has multiple documented herbicide resistant biotypes around the world,” said David Drake, Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Integrated Pest Management agent, Commerce, Texas.
