As San Antonio enters its “most active week of weather” for this spring , many parts of the Hill Country were the first to be hit with the latest surprise from Texas’ unpredictable weather. Several areas were hit with “egg-sized hail” on Sunday, March 23, while others remained under severe thunderstorm watch.
The National Weather Service issued a warning around 7:20 p.m. for Ingram, Kerrville, and nearby areas, advising residents to take cover due to the threat.
Kerrville residents reported seeing large hail falling from the skies that evening, and many others experienced significant damage to their vehicles. The hail measured at about 2 inches in diameter, according to the Interactive Hail Maps website .
