Last summer, four people were bitten by sharks while on Texas beaches within a span of six weeks. As the season prepares to come back around, one Corpus Christi resident is urging vacationers take precautions when visiting a popular swimming spot in the city.
Billy Baumgartner, who runs the social media channels “Texas Beach Bum,” provides weekly beach reports and tropical storm updates for Padre Island and Port Aransas. Most of his information comes from local anglers or surfers in the area, Baumgartner told MySA.
