CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — A surge in whooping cough cases not just across the nation, but right here in the Coastal Bend.
“As of today we have received 58 cases here in Nueces County which is a number that is more elevated than it is used to be,” said Dr. Dante Gonzalez who oversees the Public Health Department.
That number is double the cases of whooping cough or pertussis than the Coastal Bend had for the entire 2024 and it’s the most cases in more than a decade…
