CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — As Pope Leo celebrates his first mass service Sunday, a spirit of unity and faith continues to resonate across the Catholic community, especially in the Coastal Bend.
The Spring Festival at the Corpus Christi Cathedral hosted a prayer service in honor of the Jubilee Year of Hope. The event provided one of the final opportunities for the faithful to visit the cathedral before it closes for renovations at the end of May.
“I think it is important because there is hope, and we know there has always been hope, but Pope Francis brought this up for this year in a very special way,” said one attendee. “I think I want everyone to know that they are always welcome. There’s always hope, no matter what situation. Just being together and having a good time is a good way to promote hope.”…
