CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – The New Orleans Privateers surrendered five runs in the fourth inning and could not recover in an 11-5 loss to the Texas A&M-Corpus Christi Islanders on Saturday at Chapman Field.
The win for the Islanders clinched a spot in the Southland Tournament. The Privateers were in before they hit the field after Nicholls lost the first of a doubleheader earlier in the day.
The Privateers took advantage of four Islander errors in the first two innings that aided in two runs. Tristan Moore scored on a Jahlani Rogers sac fly in the opening frame.
