CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — A soaking storm dumped at least three inches of rain in the Baffin Bay area in just a few hours, but while many locals were left dealing with floodwaters, residents at one RV park hardly noticed a thing after an hour.
Seawinds RV Park, tucked inside Kaufer-Hubert Memorial Park off FM 628, handled the deluge with ease. The reason? A large retention pond on the south side of the property that silently did its job collecting the overflow and keeping things dry above ground. Park Manager Letty Couch said the solution has been working as intended.
“It all goes into the pond,” Couch said. “As soon as the rain stops, it’s gone.”…
