Shannon McCartney has been named the 2024-2025 Teacher of the Year at CCAC Coastal Bend Child Development Center, recognizing her exceptional professionalism and dedication to early childhood education, the center announced Tuesday.
McCartney, who began her career eight years ago as a registered behavioral technician, joined CCAC after two years with Head Start. She holds a Child Development Associate (CDA) credential and is pursuing an Associate of Applied Science degree in child development at Del Mar College.
“Being named the first Teacher of the Year for the CCAC Coastal Bend Child Development Center is one of the biggest accomplishments in my teaching journey thus far,” McCartney said. “It means so much to me that all my hard work, dedication, and patience are being recognized and valued. It is truly meaningful to feel seen and appreciated by both the families and my peers.”…
