Cheniere Energy is adding to its South Texas and Corpus Christi Liquid Natural Gas (LNG) plant, and recently gave the go-ahead to go full steam ahead on construction of part of the expansion.
On June 24, Cheniere announced that its board of directors has made a positive Final Investment Decision (FID) on its Corpus Christi Midscale Trains 8 & 9 and De-bottlenecking Project along the La Quinta Channel.
With the approval, the board has given the go-ahead to Bechtel Engineering for the construction of two new Liquified Natural Gas (LNG) midscale liquefaction trains as part of its Stage III expansion, each of which are capable of producing up to 1.64 million metric tons of LNG per year, according to officials…
