CHRISTUS patients with BlueCross BlueShield may need new doctors July 1

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — BlueCross BlueShield of Texas customers could lose in-network access to CHRISTUS heath care doctors and facilities on July 1 if the two sides don’t reach a new contract agreement, the insurance giant posted to its website.

The company posted a notice to customers on its website, stating that the two sides are working to reach a new contract agreement, but if that doesn’t happen, customers will no longer have in-network access to their CHRISTUS Spohn doctors, clinics and hospitals.

Affected plans include:

  • Blue Choice PPOSM
  • Blue EssentialsSM
  • Blue Advantage HMOSM
  • Blue Cross Medicare Advantage (PPO)SM
  • Blue Cross Medicare Advantage (HMO)SM
  • Medicaid (some locations)
