Robstown police plan increased patrols for Fourth of July

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — As the Fourth of July approaches, Robstown police are preparing for a surge in calls related to illegal fireworks and are ramping up enforcement efforts to keep the community safe.

Officers say they will be closely monitoring neighborhoods for violations in an effort to prevent injuries, property damage, and fires. The department has announced plans to cite individuals caught bringing fireworks into city limits or igniting them within Robstown—both prohibited under city ordinance.

This year, enforcement efforts will include the use of aerial surveillance. Sgt. Arturo Gonzalez says the department plans to deploy drones to help identify the source of illegal fireworks…
