Ingleside sending hardship relief request to GLO

The City of Ingleside is requesting financial relief related to a recently-completed drainage project, and city officials believe receiving the relief would help the city to provide key essential functions for its residents.

During the regular city council meeting on July 8, the Ingleside City Council voted to authorize City Manager Brenton Lewis to execute a letter on behalf of the city to the Texas General Land Office (GLO) concerning a financial hardship request. The request is related to the closeout of the Houghton Drainage Project requesting relief from excess local match fund obligations.

The city said the project engineer – Hanson Professional Services, Inc. – had issued an opinion of the probable construction cost being $4,276,852.75 initially upon approval of Community Block Grant Funds in 2020.
