CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Texas Family and Protective Services hosted a blood drive Wednesday to support the Coastal Bend Blood Center as the region faces a summer shortage in donations.
The bloodmobile parked outside the CPS office encouraged employees and the public to donate. Officials said donation rates often dip during the summer months, particularly when high school students — a major donor base — are out on break.
One CPS employee who donated said they give blood regularly when the mobile unit visits: “The truck comes in and I donate each time they come out.”…
