Teen apprehended by RCSO after evading arrest in June

An 18-year-old man was arrested by the Refugio County Sheriff’s Office and charged with reckless driving and evading arrest with a motor vehicle after authorities say he fled from law enforcement during a recent high-speed chase.

Malikia Thomas Scholz, who was taken into custody with assistance from the U.S. Marshals Service and the Refugio Police Department at a Corpus Christi residence, allegedly led deputies on a dangerous pursuit in late June before escaping.

“We would like to welcome this gentleman back to Refugio County,” the sheriff’s office wrote in a social media post announcing the arrest on July 11. “He left in such a hurry during his last visit we didn’t get a chance to properly introduce ourselves.”…
