Local father honors son’s legacy with ‘Drew’s World’ back-to-school bash

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — As students across the Coastal Bend get ready to head back to school, one local father is using his son’s memory to give back in a big way.

Andrew Garza, owner of Get Faded Barber Shop in Corpus Christi, opened the business about a year ago in honor of his son, Andrew Lee Garza Jr., who was an aspiring barber before his life was tragically cut short.

To celebrate his son’s legacy, Garza is hosting “Drew’s World” — a back-to-school event that offers free haircuts, school supplies, and fun for children and families. This is the second year for the event, but the first time it will be held at the new shop located at the corner of Holly and Weber…
