CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — The Corpus Christi Fire Department is expanding its efforts to prevent house fire tragedies by offering and installing free smoke detectors for residents in need.
The department recently received a donation of 65 smoke detectors from State Farm. Fire officials say the devices will be distributed and installed in homes throughout the city at no cost.
