Corpus Christi, TX — One of the most iconic voices in Tejano and Conjunto music, Linda Escobar, will celebrate an extraordinary milestone — 60 years in music — with a special celebration and concert event on Sunday, August 3, 2025, at Sunset Rodeo in Corpus Christi. The 60th Anniversary Celebration and Dance will feature a night of live performances, tributes, and recognition for the woman known affectionately across the industry as “La Reina del Conjunto.” Doors open at 7 PM, and the celebration is free to the public.
Escobar’s groundbreaking career began in 1965, when she recorded her first hit, “Frijolitos Pintos,” at the age of eight — a song she co-wrote with her father, the late Eligio Escobar, a legendary figure in Conjunto music. The single went on to become a gold record, launching a musical journey that would span six decades. For nearly 10 years, Linda and her father toured throughout the United States, Mexico, and Central America, performing together and spreading the roots of Conjunto music across international stages.
Over the years, Escobar has recorded dozens of albums, earned numerous awards, and carved a permanent place in the fabric of Tejano and Conjunto music. Her enduring impact was recognized this year by the Texas Music Office and the Office of the Governor, who will honor her contributions during the August 3 celebration. In honor of the occasion, the Texas State Capitol flew the flag in her name on July 24, 2025 — a fitting tribute to her cultural and artistic legacy…
