CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Engineering firm Kiewit has warned City of Corpus Christi leaders that the recent pause in work on the inner-harbor desalination plant project could lead to major delays and increased costs, according to a letter obtained by 3NEWS.
City staff received a letter Friday from Kiewit in response to City Council’s July 29 decision to delay authorization of Amendment No. 5 for the Inner Harbor Water Treatment Campus Project, effectively putting the project on hold for 27 days.
In the letter, Kiewit says: “The City’s decision to suspend the Inner Harbor Water Treatment Campus project will impact the schedule for many months and will serve to only increase the cost of the project.”…
