Corpus Christi’s water future, from people who’ve been in the room

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — What started as a business luncheon turned into a informative debate over the city’s water future with former City Council members, current officials, and community activists giving their insights and thoughts over two major projects: the Evangeline water proposal and the $1.2 billion Inner Harbor desalination plant.

Former council member David Loeb warned the crowd that backing out of the Evangeline deal could hit residents directly in the wallet.

“If you are an average residential user, you will pay eight dollars more and you will not get a single drop of water,” Loeb said…
