CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — The City of Sinton is warning that Corpus Christi’s plan to draw groundwater from San Patricio County could put local water supplies at risk.
City Manager John Hobson said tapping into the Gulf Coast Aquifer may provide short-term relief for Corpus Christi, but it could compromise Sinton’s ability to deliver clean, affordable water to residents.
“Many view the Gulf Coast Aquifer as a limitless and dependable source, but the truth is, we simply don’t know how much water it holds—or how long it can sustain increased demand,” Hobson said. “Overreliance on this uncertain resource could jeopardize the future of water access for the City of Sinton residents.”…
