CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — The City of Corpus Christi’s Emergency Operations Center, in coordination with the National Weather Service, is monitoring a cluster of thunderstorms in the southern Bay of Campeche that could develop into a tropical depression or weak tropical storm before reaching the southern Coastal Bend Friday evening.
Regardless of development, officials said the main threats will be increased rain chances, dangerous rip currents, higher seas and swells, and possible coastal flooding. The rainfall could cause flash flooding and urban flooding in some areas.
