CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Despite a city ordinance mandating spaying and neutering in 2023, on any given day you can find multiple strays roaming the streets of Corpus Christi, even in the sweltering August heat.
To combat this, local clinic South Texas Animal Rescue (STAR) has teamed up with the city of Corpus Christi to offer affordable help. But with the arrival of a high volume veterinarian surgeon from the Austin area both organizations will expand their hours and efforts as soon as next week.
“I think it’ll be absolutely phenomenal,” Connie Baird, STAR’s Clinic Manager and Adoption Coordinator said of the new veterinarian’s arrival. “We’ll be able to do twice as many surgeries in a day, our wellness clinic will extend from 10am to 4pm Tuesday through Friday. She’ll be here four days a week.”…
